Bookmatch Oak Endgrain Cutting Board

A beautiful endgrain board made from oak with a touch of American walnut.
Lovingly handcrafted and featuring the famous curb piece diagonal edges.
The oak wood comes from an old solid wood table and was the lower cross-connection of the table feet.

Executed as a bookmatch design, the individual growth ring stripes are reflected and form a very harmonious overall picture.

An absolute eye-catcher!

Ideal for chopping meat, vegetables, herbs or for a snack!

Dimensions of the board: 47x25x5cm (length x width x thickness)

Optionally with laser engraving:

A distinctive gift

end grain? What is that?

Endgrain/end grain: With end grain cutting boards, the annual rings are visible on the surface of the board. Particularly hard-wearing and gentle on the knife, as the blades cut between the fibers of the wood and do not cut through the fibers across the grain as with lengthwise wood. This keeps the knives sharp longer and the board nicer for longer.

All of our products are made by hand. As a finish use our in-house board butter .

Care:

Clean by hand with water and, if necessary, a little washing-up liquid. From time to time with the Curb Board Butter or rub in food-safe oil (e.g. organic linseed oil). Not suitable for the dishwasher.
After prolonged use with many signs of wear, simply sand down, oil and it will immediately shine with new splendor.

A notice:
Every tree is unique. Therefore, each curb piece impresses with its individual wood grain and may differ from the products shown. In our products, we often process wood that is several hundred years old, which may have notches, cracks and old nail holes due to its history. We deliberately stage these artefacts as design elements in the finished product. This is not a defect.
Wood works - it is completely normal for wood to warp over time (mainly through contact with water alternating with dry phases).
